This series began on evening walks along Manly Beach while I was carrying some personal heartache. Asking strangers for a portrait became a way of meeting the world again, through brief exchanges, moments of trust and glimpses into lives I might otherwise never know.

The photographs hold those fleeting encounters, and the generosity of people willing to stop, be seen and let me briefly into their world at the ocean’s edge.
