I photograph my Nana because I love her, and because photography is how I pay attention. As growing older has required her to accept more help than she is comfortable with, the series has become a way of honouring her dignity in the final season of her earthly life, without reducing her to what age has taken from her. It also helps me face the fact that one day she will leave this world.
